Scarlett Johansson’s Marvel character Natasha Romanov has lots of fans around the world, but her daughter Rose isn’t one of them.
The actress, who is starring on screen with Channing Tatum in Fly Me to the Moon, revealed her nine-year-old is ‘too scared’ to watch the Avengers movies or Black Widow.
‘She likes that I play Black Widow, but she’s too scared to watch an Avengers movie,’ the doting mom told People.
‘She’s just like, “It’s violent.” I’m like, “Oh God,”‘ the action star said.
The Oscar nominee shares her daughter with former husband, French journalist Romain Dauriac.
The elementary schooler seemed to be okay with her mom’s most recent role as a con artist turned marketing genius, who helps film a top secret fake moon landing for the government in 1969.
‘I think she’s excited about the hair and makeup mostly,’ the actress said.
The star added: ‘It’s just so fun… She’s girly.’
When moviegoers see the film which opened July 11 in theaters, they will see a cameo appearance from Johansson’s husband, Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost, 42.
The actress said she had nothing to do with the hiring, and it was director Greg Berlanti who wanted to include her husband of four years in the project
‘[He] was like, “Do you think Colin would want to do…?” Greg and Colin, they have a great rapport and they’re both comedy writers and, I think, they have a little bit of a similar personality in some ways,’ she explained.
‘And so I think he just really was excited to have Colin come and do a cameo. I was like, “Yeah, I’m sure if you ask him, I’m not going to ask him,”‘ she maintained.
The couple are proud parents of son Cosmo, two.
Acting together is something the couple don’t do often, even though the Asteroid City star has been a repeat guest on SNL over the years.
‘We don’t get to work together really ever because… I mean, we’ve worked together as he’s written stuff for me for SNL, but we never get to perform together.’
Johansson has been working on her first full-length feature as a director.
