Despite declining ‘I’m A Celeb’ offers many times, Sarah Ferguson now reveals the single offer that she might entertain

Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, revealed she has repeatedly turned down offers to join “I’m A Celebrity…

Get Me Out Of Here!” but is eager to secure a part in the popular Netflix series Bridgerton.

In a recent interview with Platinum Magazine, the 64-year-old duchess shared her thoughts while posing for the cover.

She mentioned ongoing discussions with her agent to land a role in the period drama, expressing her enthusiasm

for its set designs and envisioning herself as a long-lost friend of Penelope, played by Nicola Coughlan.

“I’ve asked my agent to get me on Bridgerton! The set designs are incredible! I could be a long-lost friend for Penelope.

I just have to be on ‘Bridgerton!’” Ferguson told the magazine, which hits the stands today. However, she firmly stated that “I’m A Celeb” is not for her, despite receiving numerous invitations to participate.

She said: “I’ve been asked to go on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ hundreds of times, and the answer is always no. I’m sure it’s lovely for lots of people, but not for me!”

The duchess also reflected on her recent health challenges, revealing her diagnosis with skin cancer after overcoming breast cancer last summer.

“The whole York family has rallied round and I couldn’t have got through it without them,” she said. “My girls in particular have been rock solid in their support. We always call ourselves ‘the tripod’ as we are there to prop each other up through thick and thin.”

Sarah emphasised the importance of vigilance with her health, especially given her family history with melanoma. She shared her cautious approach towards any changes in her skin, a lesson reinforced by personal losses to the disease.

The royal continued: “My father and my best friend Carolyn [Cotterill] died of melanoma. When I got the call on December 31 at 4pm from the dermatologist saying I was needed at the Royal Marsden on Tuesday morning at 8am, it was a long weekend – but I’ve been very lucky because it hadn’t gone into the lymph glands.”

Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, is not only eyeing a role in the hit Netflix series Bridgerton, but she is also reflecting on her health challenges and emphasizing the importance of vigilance when it comes to health. In a recent interview with Platinum Magazine, the duchess expressed her enthusiasm for the period drama and her hope to portray a long-lost friend of Penelope.

Despite receiving multiple invitations to join “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!” Ferguson has consistently declined, stating that the reality show is not for her. She highlighted her focus on landing a role in Bridgerton, praising the incredible set designs and sharing her vision for a character in the series.

On the topic of health, the duchess opened up about her recent battle with skin cancer, following a previous diagnosis of breast cancer. She credited her family, especially her daughters, for their unwavering support and solidarity during challenging times. Ferguson emphasized the need for vigilance, particularly due to her family history with melanoma, urging others to be cautious and proactive with their health.

Reflecting on personal losses to the disease, including her father and best friend, the royal underscored the importance of early detection. Despite facing a scare with a melanoma diagnosis, Ferguson expressed gratitude for catching it early and avoiding further complications.
