Dakota Johnson and Jeremy Allen White made quite the splash when they hit the beach in Miami this week, 

with onlookers surprised by their unlikely friendship. 

The pair tend to keep their personal lives under wraps but have been seen out together in mutual friends’ posts. 

In fact, their friendship goes back years, owing to Dakota’s strong bond with Jeremy’s ex-wife Addison Timlin and the trio’s mutual friend Blake Lee.

Even Jeremy’s split from Dakota’s best friend Addison hasn’t broken their bond as the pair were seen enjoying quality time together this week. 

With Dakota godmother to Jeremy’s two daughters she was also no doubt pleased to spend some time with Ezer, five, and Dolores, three. 

While it is not known exactly when Jeremy and Dakota met, the pair were first pictured together in 2017 when they attended the Women’s March in protest after the inauguration of President Donald Trump. 

Later that year The Bear star also attended Dakota’s mother Melanie Griffith’s 60th birthday alongside his wife Addison. 

However, it seems likely that the pair were linked far beyond then as in 2018 Dakota was chosen to be godmother to Jeremy’s unborn daughter with Addison, and the actress was rumoured to have hosted the star’s baby shower. 

The following year, when Jeremy tied the knot with Addison, Dakota and her partner Chris served as the witnesses when they exchanged vows during an intimate courthouse ceremony in Beverly Hills. 

Although Jeremy and Addison never confirmed when their relationship started, it is known that they became friends at their performing arts high school in 2005 and then starred in the 2008 film Afterschool. 

However, it wasn’t meant to be and in court documents listed by Addison she listed their separation date as September 1, 2022. 

Addison had previously thanked Dakota for her involvement in her children’s lives, sharing a sweet Instagram post in October 2021, captioned: ‘Happy birthday to my bright and shiny and to Ezer and Dolly’s godmother. 

‘Here you are looking the most godmotherly of them all. We love you so much, thanks for being born and raising kids with me it’s the best.’

While Jeremy and Addison’s split appeared to be amicable, the Shameless star later agreed to several stipulations in the custody agreement for their daughters.

Jeremy signed off on daily alcohol testing in order to spend time with his daughters, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

Per the terms, Jeremy will be tested when his children are under his care, and should alcohol be detected in the actor’s system, a retest will occur 15 minutes later.

If the retest is positive, the actor’s custodial rights to the children will be revoked until further actions are decided upon.

The custody arrangement also includes Jeremy agreeing to no less than ‘two alcoholics anonymous (“AA”) meetings each week,’ along with other therapy, per the court documents.

Jeremy is said to have been dating Rosalía, the Spanish singer, since October last year. Addison is believed to be single.
